MS Charity Ride 2013 - 53 photos
Three of our group did another charity ride in June of 2013, this time up in Cache Valley. This ride was for Multiple Sclerosis. It started from the fairgrounds in Logan Utah and ran up to Franklin Idaho and circled back around Cache Valley returning to Logan. The ride was divided into three choices, 45, 75, and 100 miles. We chose to ride the 75 mile course. This time it was just Marlene, Cheryl and me, and of course thousands of others. I was told that over 3,000 riders signed up for the ride, and at least 1,000 of them passed by me as I gradually slowed down.
We had to get up very early for this ride, as we had to drive up to Logan and be ready to ride out by 7:00 AM. I know that I had to get up at 4:30, way early for me. At the time we started out it was fairly cool, but by the end of the ride the temperature had risen into the 90's. I was quite surprised that I was able to finish this one.
This ride had many rest stops along the way, where they served Gatorade, water, fruit, and power bars. I kept filling my water bottles with Gatorade, many, many times. some of the rest stops had set up water misters so the riders could cool off. Something that I was glad to take advantage of. Lunch was served in Lewiston Utah, about half way though the ride.
