Bicycle Ride along Ogden & Weber Rivers Summer 2008 - 36 photos
(Last updated Mid October 2010)
There is a paved path running along the Ogden River from the mouth of Ogden Canyon west to the I-15 Freeway. It runs beneath most of the major roads either going under the bridges alongside the river or through tunnels. There are pedestrian bridges crossing over the river in many places. The trail runs for a mile around the 21st Street Pond and a short distance west of there where the Ogden and Weber rivers join, the path splits and follows the Weber River to the south, or you can cross over the Weber River and follow the combined rivers westward.
The trail used to end along the Weber river just past Fort Buenaventura State Park at Kingfisher Wetlands, where the the Union Pacific westbound tracks are. As of April 2010, the Work was finished to place an underpass below the tracks. Also an underpass was put in at the Riverdale end, going below the single track to Hill Field at the 31st Freeway eastbound exit. Now you can ride from the mouth of Ogden Canyon through Ogden and Riverdale and soon to the the mouth of Weber Canyon. Riverdale said they were going to pave two more miles of trail in the summer of 2010. As of October 2010, no sign of any work there.
