AMERICAN BALD EAGLES February 2006 - 36 photos
I went out to the Farmington Bay Bird Refuge in February of 2006 to photograph eagles. During this month the eagles winter here, coming down from Canada and Alaska. The Fish and Game commission estimated about 150 eagles wintered here this year. I feel very fortunate to get these photos, since it is hard to get close to these birds. I think a photographer would have to be hidden in a blind of some kind, to get closer shots than these.

Utah is ranked among the top five bald eagle viewing areas in the lower 48 states, according to Phil Douglass, DWR's northern region conservation outreach manager. What you see them feeding on here, are dead carp, remains of an effort to control the over abundance of carp in the area.
