AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS April 2005 - 36 photos
I have taken many pictures out at the Bear River Bird Refuge. Too many for one webpage, so I put these photos of the Pelicans on a seperate page. These Pelicans are Utah's largest birds. The size can vary from 50 to 65 inches in length, with a wing span of 90 to 120 inches across (thats 10 feet), and can weigh up to 10 pounds. I was very fortunate to have the chance of photographing them taking off, flying in a circle around me and landing. My camera can take about five shots per second, so I ended up with about 300 shots, showing just about any wing position.
