the horses were about 15 miles

along the Pony Express Trail

along the trail too

where I found the wild horses

I figured there were about 75 of them

I decided to walk all the way around them

and take pictures from every side and angle

they didn't pay much attention to me

at first I didn't get real close

wasn't sure how they would react

it seems they are used to people

I was surprised at how many different types

the young ones were mostly laying down

at first I wasn't sure they were alive

but at some point they all got up

I actually did get pretty close

looks like an indian pony

a lot of different colors
